Growing up in Colorado, Grillo and his family shared a love for food and traveling, which sparked his interest in the hospitality industry. After high school graduation, he moved to Hawaii to attend Chaminade University, where he kept himself busy by working casual serving and bartending jobs. Hungry for more, Grillo furthered his education by taking culinary courses. Following his coursework, the budding mixologist put his knowledge to the test by experimenting with food and molecular mixology behind the bar at a number of high-profile restaurants and hotels around the country.
Today, Grillo is a celebrated professional in the spirits industry who has earned the respect of his peers, co-founding with his wife April, both Repour bar, Miami and Death or Glory bar in Delray Beach. His passion for craft spirits and enthusiasm for locally sourced ingredients are the source of his creative approach to mixology. He has also honed his talents as a captivating presenter, both on and off camera.
Chandler Tomayko is a professionally trained chef and bartender. Throughout her career she has travelled and worked in beautiful places such as Costa Rica, Abu Dhabi, Hawaii, Italy, Austria, England and Spain. She loves teaching, passing along tips and sharing stories.
Chandler has worked in all types of establishments from dive bars to Michelin star restaurants, this diverse experience allows her to bring a richness to her classes. Her approach to mixology is a little unique because she constantly thinks about the kitchen and the bar. Known for her quirky personality, pin up style and passion for mixing flavors together make her a memorable teacher.
Working as a teenager in bar settings, Brian always had a yearning to get behind the bar. Even after obtaining a degree in Psychology, all he wanted to do was bartend. So, he did.
He spent 10 years in New York City, followed by another 10 in Miami, spearheading numerous award winning cocktail programs. He parlayed that into his own bar consulting company, Gourmet Booze with a focus on the consumer and the home bartender, working alongside Isaac Grillo.
Brian is highly accredited and accomplished in the spirit and cocktail world and loves spreading the knowledge he has carefully curated over the past 2 decades. He is dedicated to having a good time, always, while crafting fun, innovative cocktails.
